Admission Policy
Operated by the Kansas-Nebraska Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (SDA), Wichita Adventist Christian Academy (WACA) provides a K-10 education especially for those young people in Sedgwick and Butler counties in the state of Kansas. WACA is also open to other youth who desire a Christian education, and who are in agreement with the standards set forth by the school. An individual of good moral character, who will consistently endeavor to live in harmony with the purposes and ideals of the school, may be admitted. Wichita Adventist Christian Academy is not equipped with the resources to serve students with special needs, and/or students needing intensive assistance or remedial help in academics or behavior.
It is the WACA admission policy to admit constituent students first. Any of last year's non-constituent students will be admitted next. Anyone else will be considered only if there is room.
Any child applying for admission to kindergarten must be at least five years of age by September first. A birth-certificate will be required.
Students coming from other schools are accepted on a temporary basis, pending receipt of valid transcripts from the previous school.
Physical examinations are required of all students enrolling in kindergarten, fourth and seventh grades, and all new students. Immunization records are expected to be kept updated on all students each year. Health forms may be obtained from the school.
A copy of a birth certificate is required to be on file for all students in attendance.
It is the policy of all Seventy-day Adventist schools to admit stuents of any class, color or creed to the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the school, making no discrimination in administration of educational policies, applications for admission, scholarships or loan programs, and athletic or extracurricular activities.
General Information
Our school is a part of the Wichita Seventh-day Adventist Church South and its ministry. Area Seventh-day Adventist churches are invited to cooperate with us in our educational goals. This school offers Christian education from grades K through ten, for the 2002-2003 school year.
Classed as a junior academy, our school plant (in its present location since 1959) is a continuing educational ministry, which had its beginning in Wichita in 1925. WACA is one of over 4,700 educational institutions from elementary through university level operated by Seventh-day Adventists around the world.
