This scholarship program is immportant to my family and me because we both (Ferris, 7th grade, and Skyler, 6th grade) need attention and efforts focused toward our learning and study skills. We know friends that get to be home schooled. We have had hard times in school so far. We both struggle with reading and writing. You get more attention in a private school and they seem more concerned.

We would really like to do better in school. Our mom sent us both to a private summer school course this summer. It was the first time we have not been in a public school. They spent time with us and helped us with our reading and typing. In the past, we could go [to summer school] for free because we did not pass the benchmarks, but my mom decided to do something different this summer. We are trying to get better.
