Students win grants to attend private schools
Children First: CEO Kansas has announced its second round of privately funded scholarships for the 2003-2004 school year.
Winners were selected by a random drawing.
The nonprofit organization provides scholarships for Sedgwick County children to attend private or parochial schools.
Three-year scholarships were awarded to these students who won for the first time this year: Shaneena Kinnard, 17; Jose Lazos, 15; Ashley Thomas, 13; Skyler Sumner, 12; Thomas Bush III, 12; Tensia Morris, 9; Carson Daniels, 9; Tameka Morris, 8; Zackary Gibson, 7.
Students who are continuing in the program for a second year are Morgan Medlock, 15; Isaac de la Cruz, 14; Dexter Johnson, 14; Krissandra Mills, 13; Andrew Stucky, 13; Ferris Sumner, 12; Nathella Bridgforth, 12; Lawrence Bridgforth, 12; Emilio Arambula-Schacht, 12; Montrell Skinner, 11; Justin Scott, 11; Jose "Martin" Montoya, 11; Jordan Horner, 9; Jonathan Scott, 9; Tyrell Brewer, 7; Daniel Ray, 6.
